Annette Ademasu

Shoreline City Councilmember | Position 4

I am proud to serve on the Council representing all of Shoreline's residents and businesses. Meeting and listening to people in our community is important to me. I am committed to work for your benefit on the crucial issues. What we build must take into account our changing climate. I am using my decades of experience as a scientist when tackling issues for the city.

Our family has lived in Shoreline for 25 years. I became a single parent when our twins were two years old. We lived in a small 1-bedroom duplex on a limited income for 4 years and later bought a home in Shoreline. Housing issues are close to my heart. I am advocating for programs to reduce hardships for working families, seniors, and other residents. I dedicate my passion, vision, and expertise while collaborating on the Shoreline City Council team.

I serve with this principle in mind, a quote from Frances Perkins ~

”The people are what matter to government,

and a government should aim to give all the people under its jurisdiction

the best possible life”

Affordable Housing. For young families, seniors, and workers who want to live in the same town where they work.

The Environment. For safeguarding solutions during our changing climate, action on protection of urban tree canopies, groundwater, and critical areas like salmon streams.

Community Health. For access to addiction treatment, behavioral and crisis care, to decrease use-of-force incidents between police and individuals in crisis. Gun violence prevention is another health issue I will address and work toward solutions.

Small Business Support. For addressing safety needs and ensuring local businesses thrive in Shoreline.

Addressing climate change intersects housing, health, and transportation.
